I offer online SEN consultations for parents anywhere, in English or Italian. They work the same way as meeting in person: we talk through what you’re seeing, and you leave with practical next steps.
Who online consultations suit
Online consultations suit families who live outside Malta, in Italy, the UK or elsewhere, and would rather not arrange travel. They also suit families in Malta who find getting to an appointment difficult, or who simply prefer to talk from home.
You can speak in Italian or in English, whichever feels more natural. That matters when you are trying to explain your child’s needs clearly, without the distraction of a second language getting in the way.
Some parents find it harder to speak up for their child when the school reports and meetings are not in their own language. Having a consultation in the language you think in makes that conversation easier to prepare for.
How an online consultation works
Before we meet, you fill in a short questionnaire. It takes about two minutes. Please don’t include your child’s name or attach reports.
Then we talk by video. [confirm: platform, and whether phone calls are also offered] You don’t need a diagnosis or a label ready. We look at what’s happening at home, what’s already in place, and what isn’t working.
You leave with practical next steps: ideas for home, questions to take to school, or guidance on other support worth exploring.
What online consultations can’t do
I don’t diagnose, whether we meet online or in person.
Over a screen, I can’t see your child at school or in their everyday settings. [confirm: does Rossella offer school or home observations in Malta?] So my view of what’s going on is necessarily limited, and I’ll say so when that matters.
