What the training covers
We can start from your own question, or from the topics below. From there we look at autism in the classroom: what actually helps day to day, and how behaviour often works as communication. We talk about what a child may be trying to tell you, and how to respond without escalating.
We also cover writing and using IEP (Individual Education Plan) targets, keeping them realistic, useful and reviewed. Teachers and LSEs (Learning Support Educators) working together comes up often: who does what, and how information flows between you. So does working with parents: keeping families involved in a way that works for everyone.
Finally, there is Universal Design for Learning and differentiation, planning for variety from the start rather than retrofitting it later.
How sessions work
Sessions take different shapes depending on what your school needs. Sometimes it is a workshop, where the whole team learns together. There is also ongoing consultation and reflective practice: regular sessions where we check what is working and adjust. That matters because strategies that fit one term may not fit the next, and teams change.
What staff leave with is practical. Strategies to try the next day, for the classroom, the playground, and the moments that go sideways. A shared language across the team, so handovers are clearer and families hear the same message. And clearer roles between teacher and LSE, so everyone knows what they are responsible for. There’s no fixed package.
